Bluewater Battery Logistics is a leading battery lifecycle management company with tens of millions of batteries managed to date. The company solves a range of issues associated with surplus new, used, end-of-life, and damaged batteries, particularly lithium-ion batteries. Bluewater purchases surplus batteries for reuse, repurposes used batteries for second-life applications, and recycles of end-of-life batteries.

Bluewater Battery Logistics came to twentytwo & brand looking for a complete website redo, ushering in a new era of business aligned to its vision – providing first-in-class service to its customers, focusing on lifecycle management solutions that lead to a safe and sustainable use of batteries.

The Problem: Bluewater’s current website wasn’t working and required a complete redesign from scratch. With a desire to bring the site to life to demonstrate its experience, size, and strength, Bluewater wanted a look and feel that was new age and visually (vs. content) driven. Focused on showcasing the tone of the company, its industry leadership and demonstrating expertise, the team created a design that appeals to all audiences.

The Solution: With the market still in its infancy, the twentytwo & brand team created a standout brand that reflects the company\'s identity and activities in a clean, modern, and visually appealing manner. The goal was to build a website that conveys confidence, excellence, trust, and educates about battery recycling.

Simplicity & Consistency: The site uses the company’s tagline “resale, reuse/repurpose, and recycle” to tie into the good that each individual and company can do if they focus on recycling of both batteries used in stationery and mobility applications. The design\'s simplicity and visual elements align with the company\'s value propositions, such as maximizing value, being a single end-to-end partner, expertise in safety and compliance, and sustainable material use. This mirrors the company\'s positive actions and the emotions they aim to evoke, implement, and promote in their audience.

Using a lighter color palette, the team developed a website map to help draw in visitors, appealing to each company’s desire to be part of a solution to solve today’s climate crises. Reaching a broad audience across utility-scale energy storage companies, electric vehicle manufacturers, and forklift companies, Bluewater has leveraged its new website to tout its success to date (6+ million batteries reused & 2+ million pounds recycled) and engage additional partners to become part of their mission driven cause.
