It is estimate by the American Cancer Society that 281,550 people will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021. Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer, and although it’s most common with women, it also affects men as well. This horrible outlook doesn’t mean we have to accept these numbers and this is precisely why TheeDigital is joining the fight against this insidious disease.
Real Men Wear Pink
TheeDigital owner and president, Richard Horvath is proud to be part of Real Men Wear Pink of Central & Eastern NC, which was founded by men that are dedicated to finding a cure for breast cancer. RMWP is comprised of leaders in our community who share a common commitment to raise money for the American Cancer Society to help end this awful disease. The ACS saves thousands of lives each year with early detection and prevention services, research funding and patient support. In over five years, RMWP of Central & Eastern NC has raised over $500,000 to help find a cure for this disease that has affected so many in our community.
How Does it Work?
Men from varying backgrounds, including business owners, healthcare providers, and media professionals, are nominated (or they nominate themselves) to join in the fight. To continue to grow the drive and increase the amount raised, the Previous RMWP candidates often nominate new leaders. There’s obviously no limit on how can be raised, but each man involved has a minimum $2,500 goal to achieve. There’s also a friendly rivalry among these community leaders to raise more money than the others.
A Message from TheeDigital President, Richard Horvath
Here’s Why I Wear Pink
Most families have been affected by breast cancer directly or indirectly, regardless of whether you’re a man or a woman. This is why I am involved with RMWP, and it’s why I am so passionate about these efforts to fight breast cancer. As a successful business owner, I am fortunate to be able to make a difference in my community. As such, I firmly believe that I have an obligation to do what I can in a community that has given so much to my family and me. In raising money and awareness through Real Men Wear Pink, my efforts help cure breast cancer.
Why Do I Support the American Cancer Society?
Each day, the American Cancer Society is saving lives from breast cancer. They do this by helping people take steps to reduce their risk through education and early detection where the cancer is more treatable. The ACS provides free information on breast cancer and services for people in need. They also fund groundbreaking research for breast cancer and are working to ensure mammograms for women who need them.
